On April 7th Dr. Paul Corcuera Garcia
Director of the Institute
Ciencias para la Familia from the
University of Piura and ex Dean of the
Faculty
Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales spoke at the conference on
”Marital Communication and Children’s
Education” to a well attended group
of Fleming College parents.
Dr.
Corcuera stressed the importance of
communication within the marriage as means
of getting to know each other better, to
“discover” and learn from each other and
most of all to increase the marital love.
The great challenge for parents is their
children´s education for which there is no
unique way; however, he pointed out that it
is necessary for parents to train to be
parents, suggesting them to read books and
articles like those published by the
University of Piura. As well, he spoke
highly of the importance of the need to be a
good example, to be objective, patient,
constant and humble and, when necessary, ask
for help to allow us to be better parents.
Summing up, Dr. Corcuera mentioned what the
Pope Juan Pablo II had stated during the
Jornada Mundial por la Familia,
saying that parenthood is considered a gift.
