The new recuperation ward and toilets in the children’s Burns Unit of Hospital Belen were inaugurated during an emotional ceremony.

Present there were Fleming College authorities and students, hospital authorities, doctors, nurses, administrative personnel, journalists and Manos Abiertas volunteers. Fleming College’s Clown doctors were also there to cheer up the young patients.

Patty Osorio, director of the Manos Abiertas volunteers’ programme, began the proceedings by thanking all the institutions and persons who made the remodeling work possible. She thanked the Fleming family (students, parents, administrative personnel, Apafa 2006, clown doctors and school authorities) for their constant support.

Manos Abiertas will continue working for those who are needy.
