Mrs. Yolanda Gonzales, Head of Early Years
explains us a little about the development
of the Musicorp technique which is being put
into practice for the little ones with the
support of Mrs. Patricia Ortiz Arrieta de
Osorio.
“During a trial period, pupils from
Early Years and Movers are starting the day
with a programme of exercises and songs
aiming to stimulate their learning based in
moving and music. This practice is being
used in other countries to reinforce
learning. It develops physical abilities,
stability and balance. It channels
children’s energy, it stimulates the
interactive environment where the children
share a space and explore movements
together, it encourages the imagination,
promotes creativity and develops healthier
children with a higher self-esteem.
The development of the brain is closely
related with movement and motor skills.
Developing these skills produce more
sinapsis. Exercises create endorphins,
chemical substances which promote
communication between cells and cell growth.
There is evidence that this Works especially
with children who suffer from TDAH.”
Children who benefit from these exercises
are 4 and 5 years old in Early Years (Monday
and Wednesday from 8:00a.m. to 8:20 a.m.)
and pupils from P1 and P2 (Monday and
Wednesday from 7:30 to 7:50 a.m.)
