S4
AND S5 PUPILS TAKE PART IN A DEBATE DISCUSSING
Child Pornography on the Internet
So proud !!!!!!
This is how Miss Maricarmen Sarmiento began her
description:To-day I had the
pleasure of accompanying and seeing a group of 4th
and 5th years getting involved in a debate
about ¨Child Pornography on the Internet¨ organized by Colegio
Perpetuo Socorro.
There were more than 200 students from about 25 schools
in Trujillo. Representing our school were:
5th year: Daniela Ganoza, Jimena Lescano,
Pedro Cisneros, César Jara
4th year: Daniela Britto, Mariana De Orbegoso,
José Alfredo Arce, Paul Carty.
I was very pleased to accompany the pupils because in
each group in which they took part, they stood out for
their ideas and clear proposals; for how well organized
they were; for their ability to communicate; for their
large vocabulary; for their capacity to relate issues
and knowledge; for their preparation (they had all
investigated about the theme and were the only ones to
handle statistical data) and even for their information
technology abilities. They were also very well behaved
at all times. Real ¨Ladies and Gentlemen¨.
After listening to two speakers (who, I must say, were
even corrected by our students on the information they
presented), all the pupils were split into 5 groups. The
eight students who represented us were separated and
were made part of the 5 different groups where they
stood out not only representing their groups in the
final account but also asking questions and
participating in the debate. A special mention for Pedro
and Paul who got an enormous ovation from the auditorium
(they already have a fan club).
But what gave me the greatest satisfaction was to see
them mix with the rest of the participants from other
schools (including the break time) with happiness and
integration.
I am absolutely sure that this has been a very
gratifying experience for all of them, as well as for
me. I have been very proud to be able to say that they
are Fleming’s pupils.
