The “Nutritional and Rich Food” Fair, which
took place in school, was organized by the
S4
pupils and was part of the
biology
course activities.
The aim of this activity was for the pupils
to learn about nutrients found in each type
of food and to encourage them to eat a
balanced diet. Also to promote consuming
healthy food such as bróccoli, cauliflower,
tomatoes, beans, fish, corn, potatoes
spinach, etc…
During the presentation they explained that
tomatoes, for example, are rich in vitamin C
and antioxidants;
broccoli
was
rich in vitamin B and
good
to reinforce the nervous system and the
quality of learning and cauliflower helps to
prevent having
cancer
etc…
This project took time, effort, organization
and a lot of dedication over a long period
of time as the pupils had to investigate,
experiment in the laboratory, make posters
for the presentation, leaflets, etc.
Something which they enjoyed making very
much was a video in which they had to show
how to prepar their proposed dish and give
information about the nutrients whilst
cooking the dish
at home.
The students were very satisfied with what
they achieved which went beyond their
original expectations.
Thanks must go to Sra. Silvia Carrasco the
teacher who was responsible for organizing
and guiding the students through such a
successful and interesting topic.
