Primary / Art

A pupil’s education must take into account all his essence as a whole, and none of its elements being given more importance than others. Mind, body, and spirit , the sensitive fountain are equally important. Each one of them must be taken into account in giving this holistic approach to a pupil’s development.

Fine Arts

The Fine Arts course looks to strengthen the pupils’ social abilities, by improving their self-esteem, and their sensitivity to confront the challenges of society with the best tools.

To familiarize them with the Fine Arts we will visit art galleries, museums, typical local places (Huanchaco, Moche, etc.) and we will work with materials from their own environment to give value to our millennial culture, producing creative experiences which will allow them to develop their visual perception and analysis, being not only spectators but critics of their own work, developing in them an entrepreneurial self-critical and artistic spirit.

Music

Throughout history it has been proven that music has the capacity to influence human beings at all their levels: Biological, physiological, psychological, intellectual and spiritual. Music develops attention capacity, and favours imagination and creative capacity; stimulates concentration ability and short and long term memory and develops the sense of order and analysis. It makes learning easier as it maintains our neurons in activity, and exercises our intelligence, because it favours reasoning and at the same time perceiving their elements in a different way and synthesize them in the capture of an integrated, logical and beautiful message.

That is why, in Fleming the pupil learns to make its own musical instrument with recycling materials, like “plumpoñas and botellófonos”, and also learns to write and read music in a practical and didactic manner, managing to embody it in a small orchestra accompanied by harmonic and percussion instruments, playing classical and popular musical themes.

Performance Art and Dancing

Since 2004 we have been developing our pupils’ theatre and dancing abilities, through the annual workshop preparing our Musical Play.   Even though it is hard work,  the results that we produce in the Municipal Theatre each year show the significant improvement in the choreographic and histrionic skills of the pupils who belong to the workshop.
