This year in Information
Technology we are implementing project development in close connection
with the other subjects in order to teach our students the usefulness of
technology as a research tool. We have set ourselves the goal to
integrate the use of the Internet and the Offimatic tools with the work
done in Maths, Science, English, and Spanish.
The classes are not aimed at the simple use of software such as Word,
Excel, Power Point, among others, from a generic point of view without a
specific application in the students’ everyday life. They are planned in
coordination with the teachers of the other subjects in each grade,
integrating the application of such software in a project of a specific
course. The students will thus be able to apply the knowledge acquired
and at the same time constantly use the IT tools for their research
projects and their oral presentations as well.
These projects not only consist of reports about a topic related with the
course. The students will have to reflect in a creative way and with the
aid of the software, what was learnt in class by making posters, writing
stories, making graphs, designing brochures, etc., so that the students
find various ways to apply the software they are learning to use.
