In
Secondary, the goal of the Information Technology course is to
ensure that students identify,
use and value the various information
technology tools while
integrating them into their personal and educational development.
The course is based on the British National curriculum and the IGCSE
syllabus. The IGCSE for IT is a theoretical-practical exam for which our
students get prepared from
2nd year in order to take it in 4th year. It
has the following aims:
- To help the students develop and consolidate their knowledge, skills
and understanding of Information
Technologies.
- To encourage the students to develop as future autonomous users of
information technologies.
- To encourage the students to continue developing their skills in
information technologies in order to
highlight their work in other areas of study.
- To provide the students the opportunity to analyse, design, implement,
test, and evaluate information
systems.
- To encourage the students to consider the impact of new technologies
and work methods in the world
taking into account the social, economic, ethical and moral aspects.
- To help the students develop in practical
applications and situations related to
their academic work.
At the end of the program in 4th year, the students will be able to
successfully face the technological world as they will have acquired sufficient knowledge and the necessary practical computing skills to
enable them to understand and be at the cutting edge of technological
advances, and to apply their knowledge of the software used in a
creative and effective way.
