Our students take
courses of Chemistry, Physics and Biology through which the application
of the scientific method is applied in the study of the phenomena in
each subject. This method promotes observation, experimentation,
investigation and analysis of problems in an orderly way, which allows
our students to develop their higher order thinking skills and draw
conclusions by themselves.
In Third and Fourth year, these courses are studied in English following
the IGCSE syllabus and using textbooks also in English.
In addition, each course is complemented with experimental practice in
the labs so that the students are responsible for their own learning.
In Mathematics the students develop their mathematical thinking skills
emphasizing the solution of problems by understanding them.
For the maths lessons, our teachers use modern methodology aimed at
catering for different learning styles, enabling our students to develop
their logical and analytical sense in a steady and consistent way, by
continuous practice, and by relating the mathematical concepts with
their application in real-life situations. The use of such methodology
encourages the active and constant participation of our students,
promoting a dynamic and positive environment inside the classroom.
