Secondary / Spanish and Literature

The courses that encompasses communication in Secondary are developed from two perspectives: development of skills and abilities in the handling of Spanish, and the enjoyment of the application of the language in the aesthetic use as well.

To achieve these aims we consider the development of two large fields of communication: interpretation of oral, written and audiovisual texts (reading comprehension), and the production of the same.

We take into consideration the desirable features in teenagers and  youth. For this purpose we train the students to assertively communicate their ideas, feelings, emotions, preferences, and queries through various forms of interaction, demonstrating ability to listen, to come to an agreement and to build consensus.

We also take into account the ethical-moral guidance of our students through cross-curricular topics that are developed throughout their education by putting into practice human rights.

In our course we use the active methodology of Teaching for Understanding, adding to the experiences of our Peruvian reality the development of creative and critical thinking skills, problem solving, and decision-making.

Among the activities that will enable the students to reach their steady progress, are the invitation to do individual research, team work, production of various types of texts for specific purposes, group dynamics, use of the resources available, presentations with audio visual aids, use of information packages (DVD, CD, videos), formulation of interviews, among others.
