Sanctions

Students who do not attend school in the correct uniform or who wear the uniform incorrectly or untidily will be sanctioned. After a short settling in period all students in Primary who exhibit a flagrant misuse of the uniform should be given a demerit point. If the offence occurs during the break they should be put in break detention. Students in Secondary who misuse the uniform should be given a demerit point.

Students who arrive wrongly dressed will be sent home to change their uniform and will be allowed to return if they do so promptly. Any lessons or tests they miss will not be given again.

Students who arrive improperly dressed a subsequent time will be sent home for the day.  Each day of suspension will count as -1 point towards their end of year grade/graduation level.

Teachers’ Dress Code

Teachers are not expected to wear a uniform. The idea of teachers appearing in uniform is contradictory to the idea of the teacher as an important, distinct individual in the lives of their students.

Teachers will however dress professionally and smarty at all times in school.  If they are to be respected and treated professionally they must look the part.  For this reason some norms will be expected.  Teachers will not wear jeans or backless sandals to school.  We cannot demand standards from the students and then not apply them to ourselves.  Teachers while on any school duty or attending any school event must apply this criteria.
