  SPORTS CHARTER

Fleming wants to promote a highly positive and sporting attitude within the city. To do this our teams, our staff and coaches, our supporters including our parents will support the following charter.

Team Members

          1.   Team members are chosen after an aptitude test of their skills and abilities.

          2.   Team members commit themselves to attend all the training sessions  punctuality,

as well as the games in and outside the school. Selection for the team is dependent

on regular, positive attendance at training sessions. Absences from training will only be

accepted if accompanied by a letter from the student’s parents.

          3.   Team members are responsible for their team uniform.

          4.   Team members must take care of and maintain the school’s  sports equipment and

                facilities.

          5.   Team members must behave properly at all times, and be polite and friendly during all the

activities programmed in or outside the school.

          6.   Team members must greet the officials before games and thank them afterwards even if

they do not think the referees were good.

          7.   Team members must never argue with referees.

          8.   Team members must shake hands with the opposition before and after games.

No member of Fleming football team will ever try to trick a referee by cheating or

                pretending to be injured.

          9.   Improper language will not be tolerated at any time.

Teachers and Coaches

          1.   Teachers or coaches in charge of teams will set example by dress and behaviour.

          2.   They will encourage our teams to win tournaments by being the best team but will teach                 our teams to accept defeat gracefully.

          3.   In tournaments team selection will be based on attempting to win the games and to ensure

team development. This means that  substitutes will not necessarily play in each game.

          4.   In friendly games all squad members will play a part.

Supporters

          1.   Fleming will be happy to encourage parents and students to support our teams when

                they are in action.

          2.   We expect our supporters to behave in an educated and positive way.

          3.   We will positively support our team without criticizing the opposition.

          4.   We will not criticize the match officials.

          5.   Parents who attend our events are respectfully requested to support our  sports charter.
