Dear Sir Alexander,
My name, or should I say, my pseudonym, is Woodie, and I am
writing to you because I thought (well, actually it was the
English Department) you should know that our school is named
after you. Pretty cool, huh?
If you could see it you would be proud it has your name. It
may not be a huge school, but it is an attractive and safe
place where students are nice to everyone, study because
they enjoy it and read because they love it.
Since you died, the world has changed a lot in some aspects.
Your discovery helped humans to cure diseases that, in your
days, killed lots of people. Now, antibiotics are so common
that bacteria become resistant to the ones we have, forcing
us to constantly develop new ones.
European countries are not fighting against each other like
in World War II, now they have created the European Union!
Of course there are still some hard feelings, but they don’t
show them, so everything is ok. =)!
Remember those huge computers you once had? Well, now
they’re the size of a small TV and almost everyone has one
at home. Unbelievable? Well, it’s happening! (Either that or
I’m crazy, and I’d much rather believe it’s happening).
Science has improved a lot, now we can extract cells from an
animal and use them to create a copy of it (it’s called
cloning). Also, now it’s not unusual to do heart transplants.
Yes, you read correctly, it IS possible to replace a
person’s heart when it’s not working properly. =o!
All these changes may be too much for you and I don’t want
you to die again so I’d better say goodbye.
Take care!
Woodie
P.S: Please don’t bother to show up or we’ll all freak out.
We are not used to this type of visits, you know…..
